*~*A short beginner history text of Louis Charles*~*
Louis XVII of France, also Louis VI of Navarre (Versailles March 27, 1785 – Paris June 8, 1795), from birth to 1789 known as Louis-Charles, Duke of Normandy; then from 1789 to 1791 as Louis-Charles, Dauphin of Viennois; and from 1791 to 1793 as Louis-Charles, Prince Royal of France, was the son of King Louis XVI of France and Marie Antoinette of Austria. As the son of the king, he was a Fils de France (Son of France). At the death of his father on 21 January 1793, and in keeping with dynastic order, he became King of France and Navarre although, imprisoned during the French Revolution from August 1792 until his death on tuberculosis in 1795, he never reigned.
Agathe de Rambaud was chosen by the queen to be the Berceuse des Enfants de France of the Duke of Normandy, who became the Dauphin (the heir to the throne) at the death of his elder brother Louis-Joseph, Dauphin of France. Alain Decaux wrote: "Madame de Rambaud was officially in charge of the care of the Dauphin from the day of his birth until August 10, 1792, in other words, for seven years. During these seven years, she never left him, she cradled him, took care of him, dressed him, comforted him, scolded him. Ten times, a hundred times, more than Marie Antoinette, she was a true mother for him". Her friend, Louise-Elisabeth, Marquise de Tourzel was the last governess to the royal children of King...

Charles was a brav little boy. Very charming and kind to everyone, but he had also some not so good traits of his mothers kind. At least in the case of comforts. He also wanted to become a good locksmith like his father. So he worked like his brother too with his father in his workshop. He had a very close relationship to his father and later also to his mother. But he was much more Daddys boy. In the Tuilerien his father became very ill on March 4th 1791. Louis XVI. coughed, had temperature and spat blood. Marie Therese and Charles had a lot of fear of him. When they went to the Temple, it was clear, from this place there is no way out anymore! In there he shared his time with his family much more than he could before, most of all with his father. But also his mother, the queen, took much more care for her children so suddenly than she ever did before. (....)
